MKM Hire fleet grows
16 January 2025
MKM Hire has celebrated the purchase of its 350th JCB machine as it continues its rapid expansion.
Builders’ merchant MKM entered the hire sector in 2022 with the formation of its dedicated tool and plant division, MKM Hire (reported previously on the blog). Since then, the company’s fleet investment has included 350 JCB machines to date, supplied by dealer TC Harrison JCB. These include one hundred 1.5-tonne conventional tail swing 16C-1 mini excavators.
Lee Armsby, MKM’s Head of Tool Hire, said: “Since our launch, MKM Hire has thrived and invested heavily in an outstanding range of equipment. The breadth and quality of JCB’s compact range helps MKM Hire to meet the needs of both construction professionals and DIY enthusiasts.
“We will continue with expansion plans and open another ten hire branches across the UK over the next 12 months, each prioritising local expertise and outstanding customer service.”
JCB Compact Sales Manager Mark Hobbs added: “It is fantastic to see the success that MKM Hire has achieved in such a short period of time. Operated locally under independent branch directors, each depot has the full autonomy to select the products that are right for their local market.”
MKM Hire currently has 18 tool hire depots nationwide.
