Codey Harding, based at the Peterborough TCH Contact Centre, is to participate in White Collar Boxing to raise money for ARFID Awareness UK charity.
ARFID Awareness is UK’s only registered charity dedicated to raising awareness about Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. As a not-for-profit, we work to provide individuals, parents, carers and medical professionals with up-to-date relevant information, research and support.
ARFID is characterised by a pattern of eating that avoids certain foods or food groups entirely and/or is restricted in quantity. It is different to other eating disorders in that someone with ARFID doesn’t restrict their food intake for the specific purpose of losing weight
Codey has suffered with this disorder since he was 5 years old and only recently been diagnosed with it. Codey’s food intake is very restricted to less than 10 food primarily because he feels unsafe eating anything else.
Codey will train for the boxing event two evenings a week for the next 8 weeks for the event on 25th November at Planet Ice in Peterborough. Having never done boxing before, this will be a completely new experience for Codey. Please support Codey if you can by donating to his justgiving page via the link below.
If you would like to attend on the night to support Codey then please email him. Tickets for the event are £25 pp or a VIP table of 10 at £45pp.
